Location of Casualty Corbyn Headland

Service ILB tasked to report of people in difficulty on Corbyn Headland. People collected

by ILB and transferred to Torre Abbey Sands.

Location of Casualty Livermead Cliffs

Service At the time of this shout the ILB was just completing our Annual SAR

demonstration along the Breakwater and Beach at Brixham as part of Lifeboat

Week. The ILB was tasked to reports of people in difficulty at Livermead. ILB

attended and stood by until people were safe.

Location of Casualty Watcombe, Babbacombe

Service The ILB was afloat following the Red Devils display and was requested to check

for children cut off by the tide on rocks at Watcombe. Eight children were

recovered by a fishing boat in the vicinity. No others found in difficulty

Location of Casualty 0.5 miles N of Fishcombe

Service During an exercise the ILB crew identified a small Fletcher speedboat in difficulty

near the muscle bank. Boat taken iin tow and returned them to Brixham. ILB then

returned to Exercise plan.

Location of Casualty Brixham Inner Harbour

Service Both boats launched as support to the local fire brigade attending a reported fire

aboard a trawler in Brixham Harbour. Stood down when no support was required.

Additional Notes Welding operation in progress causing excessive smoke.

Location of Casualty Off Preston Beach

Service Several people reported a canoe apparently unoccupied and around 100 yards off

shore at Preston. ILB tasked to investigate. Canoe found in a burnt state with a

considerable amount of sand on board which was emptied out before being towed

to Paignton Harbour.

Service Following a 999 call apparently from three youths claiming to be cut off by the tide

the ILB was tasked together with Coastguard units. Their location was imprecise.

Coastline checked on the south side of Torbay but nothing found.

Additional Notes During search same youths phoned to say all ok - search terminated.

Location of Casualty Thurlstone, Nr Kingsbridge

Service Following a mobile phone 999 call reported to be from Broadsands where a

swimmer was in difficulty the ILB was tasked. No one found to be in difficulty.

Further investigation found the call originated from the Kingsbridge

Broadsands. Lifeguards and Helimed attended attended the scene.

Location of Casualty Goodrington South Sands

Service Launched to a report of swimmers in difficulty 100 yards off Goodrington South

Sands Beach. Group of swimmers managed to get ashore shortly before the ILB

arrived. ILB checked for any others in difficulty. One young lady taken to hospital

for a check-up.

Additional Notes Easterly Force 3/4 at the time making shoreline quite rough.

Location of Casualty Brixham Breakwater

Service Whilst out on exercise in the harbour the crew observed a teenager fall from the

breakwater and get into difficulty. ILB immediately diverted and recovered him to

the boat house. Dry boiler suit and cup of tea provided!
